To Exist Beyond the Glass

This was a 45minute performance piece written by and performed by Elinor Rowlands, shown on the 17th September 2021 at Hammersmith Lyric Theatre as part of an arts festival produced by Turtle Key Arts.

To Exist Beyond the Glass is an exploration of Elinor Rowlands’ autism through objects in her bedroom. Here, she explores the experience of autism in the way so many autistic people are so often rendered as objects.

Through videos, live performance and music, she explores what is means to feel and be treated like an object.
