Object: Teapot.

Sometimes, I pour the sounds from the teapot into my ear.

I bought this teapot in Hastings in a Thrift store. It is Chinese, porcelain. Ceramic. Handpainted.

My Chinese starsign is the Rat. The Rat is the animal on top of the lid. It holds either coins or food - prosperous… wealth. The Rat make good business people… and artists, so I’m told. I also love the colours. I thought it was really unique and beautiful.

A few times, perhaps because I am a little bit … playful?

I will lie down, and put the teapot stout to my ear.

And hear

the same as what the shell’s song

stirs in my ears

and then, I’ll flow gently

Into a concocture

of poetic

sounds

gentle

gently

cooing me

gently gently cooing me to the other lands.
